Grand Independence Day celebration at Ayyappa Public School: A spirited tribute to India’s freedom fighters


Bokaro: The premises of Sri Ayyappa Public School resonated with fervor and enthusiasm as Independence Day was celebrated in a grand manner. The event, marked by its vibrant festivities, commenced with a Prabhat Pheri led by both students and teachers during the early hours. 

Dignitaries including School President P. Rajagopal, Vice Presidents Mohanan R. Nair and Sashindran Karat, esteemed Board members, Director Dr. S. S. Mahapatra, Prinicipal P. Sailja Jai Kumar along with dedicated teachers, staff, and students, graced the occasion with their presence.

The festivities officially kicked off within the school premises with the unfurling of the national flag by the chief guest, P. Rajagopal. The assembly recited the national oath with a sense of unity and patriotism.

Amidst the celebratory atmosphere, the spotlight was on the planting of saplings in the Amrit Vatika and the captivating Chandrayaan-3 model showcased on stage. The students of Sri Ayyappa Public School breathed life into the spirit of independence through their vibrant performances.

The audience was treated to a mesmerising array of patriotic songs, group dances paying homage to the nation, Chhotanagpur folk dances, and emotionally charged routines. Undoubtedly, the pinnacle of the event was the captivating ‘Fashion Show’ in which students showcased attires representing diverse states, iconic freedom fighters, and notable professionals from India’s history.

In his heartening address, School Chairman P. Rajagopal emphasised the profound significance of the day and underscored the role of education in driving the nation forward. Secretary E.S. Sushilan extended warm Independence Day wishes to the entire school community.

Dr. S.S. Mahapatra, School Director, reminded everyone of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and called for drawing inspiration from their unwavering resolve. Prinicipal P. Shailja Jai Kumar shed light on the plantation of 75 saplings in the ‘Amrit Vatika’ as part of the Prime Minister’s ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh’ initiative, invoking a sense of patriotic duty among the attendees.

The collective efforts of Vice-Prinicipal Rajalakshmi, in-charges, teachers, and students were pivotal in orchestrating the success of the event. The celebration culminated with the felicitation of students for their achievements across various fields, leaving everyone inspired and united in the spirit of patriotism and progress.
