Investiture ceremony at Pentecostal Assembly School: Fostering leadership and responsibility


Bokaro: The Pentecostal Assembly School commemorated a significant day as the Students’ Council and Prefectorial body assumed their roles for the academic session 2023-24. With a strong emphasis on comprehensive development, the school aims to cultivate responsibility, accountability, teamwork, and leadership skills among its students.The Investiture Ceremony, witnessed by the Senior Secondary wing and parents, symbolised the acceptance of responsibilities by the newly appointed student leaders in the secondary and Senior Secondary sections of the school.

The Investiture Ceremony commenced with a heartfelt prayer song, “I want to serve the purpose of God,” invoking the presence of the Almighty and reminding students that leaders have a purpose to fulfill. Director, Rev. D.N Prasad, delivered an inspiring speech emphasising the significance of decision-making and discipline, leaving a profound impact on the students and setting the tone for the day’s events.

The highlight of the ceremony was the distribution of flags and badges to the diligent members of the Students’ Council and Prefectorial body by Principal, Dr. Karuna Prasad. Bhumi Kumari, School Captain from XII E, led the oath-taking ceremony where students pledged their loyalty to the school.

In her address, Principal Dr. Karuna Prasad emphasised the importance of assuming responsibilities and the true essence of leadership. Quoting, “Anyone can steer the ship, but a leader charts the course,” she highlighted the distinction between merely guiding a situation and actively shaping its direction.

Dr. Prasad explained that leadership extends beyond mere task execution or giving instructions. It requires the ability to envision a path forward, set goals, and inspire others to follow that course. While anyone can navigate a predefined route, a genuine leader possesses foresight, strategic thinking, and determination to chart a new course, overcome obstacles, and reach new horizons.

The quotation served as a reminder to the newly appointed Student Council and Prefectorial body that their role extends beyond routine responsibilities. They were entrusted with the task of guiding the school community towards growth, progress, and success.

Dr. Prasad encouraged them to embrace their leadership roles with purpose, integrity, and a commitment to making a positive impact. The meaningful lyrics of the school song reverberated throughout the Chapel Hall, concluding the program on a fulfilling note.

The entire school community, including CAO Rita Prasad, and Administrative Head, Daniel Michael Prasad, joined in congratulating the newly appointed Students’ Council and Prefectorial body.
