A joint operation involving CRPF, Jharkhand Jaguar, and district police was launched following information of a group of Naxalites, including Birsen alias Chanchal, a commander of the banned CPI-Maoist organisation, spotted in the Jhumra Hill area on Thursday night.

As a search team crossed Lalgarh Tola and Laiogarh, Maoists encountered gunfire from the forest. The team pursued the shooter, but he managed to escape inside the jungle. The search team discovered an abandoned gun from the spot.

Police team also located a Naxalite hideout in the Jhumra Hill forest. The hideout included camp, cooking items, and a morcha, all of which were destroyed by the team.
