Bokaro: The Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) has taken strict action against the Bokaro District Cricket Association (BDCA) following allegations of taking outside players for money. The JSCA dissolved the current committee of BDCA and ordered its immediate suspension.
This action comes after local players had levelled allegations of giving chances to outside players in exchange for money, playing with the future of youth in the name of cricket, said sources.
To handle all cricket-related activities in the Bokaro district until further notice, the JSCA has formed a five-member adhoc committee, headed by Shailendra Kumar, along with Durga Das Jha, JP Dwivedi, Rajesh Ranjan, and Sanjay Singh Gandhi as its members. The BDCA has also been instructed to provide all records related to the district’s cricket to the new committee immediately.
Dwivedi however, talking to media confirmed about the formation of a new ad hoc committee and said they work as per expectation of JSCA.
After a 25-day investigation, the three-member committee, headed by Rajeev Singh and including Mihir Tono of Ranchi and Pankaj Singh of Latehar, submitted its report to the JSCA. Based on this report, the JSCA decided to dissolve the present committee of the BDCA.
The JSCA’s decision sends a clear message that corruption in cricket will not be tolerated. “It is expected that the new committee will ensure transparency and fairness in the selection of players and other cricket-related activities in the Bokaro district,” said Raju Kumar, a player.
