Bokaro: The campus of Sree Ayyappa Public School, Bokaro, turned into a colourful celebration zone as students from Pre-Nursery to Grade II, along with parents and teachers, came together for the special event “Mangolicious Moments” on Saturday, July 18, 2026. The Mango Day celebration blended creativity, knowledge and entertainment, giving children an opportunity to learn beyond classrooms.
Mango-themed campus creates festive atmosphere
The school premises were beautifully decorated with yellow and green colours, reflecting the theme of the king of fruits. The vibrant decorations, colourful costumes of children and the aroma of mangoes created a cheerful environment across the campus. The event aimed to promote practical learning among children by introducing them to the importance of seasonal fruits, environmental awareness, teamwork and family bonding through fun-filled activities.
Young learners showcase talent through performances
The little ones from the Pre-Nursery section impressed the audience with colourful dance performances. Their confidence and enthusiasm added charm to the celebration. Pre-Nursery students also participated in a painting competition along with their parents, providing a platform for children to explore their creativity while strengthening the bond between parents and children.
Students present mango varieties in creative ramp walk
Students of Grades I and II showcased different varieties of mangoes through a unique ramp walk. The activity encouraged children to gather information about mango production, varieties and characteristics while improving their presentation skills. Parents also actively participated by sharing their knowledge about mango-based dishes, flavours, colours and nutritional benefits, making the programme an interactive learning experience.
School management appreciates collective efforts
Chairman P. Rajagopal congratulated the students, parents and teachers for the successful organisation of the programme and praised the dedication of the faculty members. Vice Presidents Saseendran Karat and Mohanan R. Nair, General Secretary E.S. Activity-based learning encourages creativity
School Director Dr. S.S. Mahapatra said that such knowledge-enhancing competitions should be organised regularly as they help in the creative and overall development of children. Principal P. Shailaja Jayakumar said the programme was organised under the school’s parenting calendar to encourage experiential learning involving students, teachers and parents. She added that children participated in mango rhymes, quizzes, brain teasers and research activities related to mango varieties and cultivation, making learning enjoyable and meaningful.

Vice-Principal Rajalakshmi highlighted the health benefits of seasonal fruits and thanked students, parents and teachers for their wholehearted participation in making “Mangolicious Moments” a memorable success.
