Rajdhani Express narrowly avoids tractor collision, driver’s prudent action averts disaster

Bokaro: The New Delhi-Bhubneshwar Rajdhani Express (22812) narrowly avoided a collision with a tractor at the Santhaldih railway crossing of Bhojudih railway station in Bokaro district, Jharkhand. The train driver’s quick thinking prevented a disaster, and no casualties or property damage were reported.

The incident occurred at around 4:45 PM when the tractor attempted to cross the tracks while the crossing gate was still in motion. The gateman had allegedly failed to lower the gate promptly upon receiving information about the approaching train.

The train driver applied the brakes and brought the train to a halt just in time, narrowly avoiding a collision with the tractor. The train was delayed by approximately 41 minutes while railway officials worked to clear the crossing.

“The gateman has been suspended and an inquiry has been launched into the incident. The Rajdhani Express eventually proceeded to its destination safely and without any loss of life or property,” said Vikas Kumar, senior divisional railway manager.
