RPF Post Bokaro rescues runaway minor girl under operation ‘Nanhe Farishte’


Bokaro: In a commendable display of vigilance and compassion, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Post in Bokaro executed a successful rescue operation under “Operation Nanhe Farishte” today, rescuing a runaway minor girl.

While conducting routine duties, Sub-Inspector Meena Kumari, along with Meri Saheli staff Sheela Devi and Kiran Toppo, noticed a young girl sitting alone in coach no. D8 of train no. 13320 at the BKSC station around 3:32 hrs. The girl appeared lost and in a suspicious condition, prompting the RPF personnel to approach her.

“Upon questioning, the girl identified herself as a 13-year-old resident of Balrampur police station area, Purulia district, West Bengal. She confessed to running away from home without informing her parents and disclosed that she did not possess any travel authorisation or ticket,” said Rajkumar Sao, incharge Bokaro RPF Post.

Recognising the urgency of the situation, the RPF team swiftly took action to ensure the girl’s safety. Anita was promptly handed over to Childline, Bokaro, for further assistance and necessary procedures, he added.

“Operation Nanhe Farishte” aims to protect vulnerable children traveling alone on trains and has been instrumental in rescuing minors from potentially dangerous situations.
