In News: Safety training/Plates for ISRO/retirement/Engineers hosts seminar/

Two-day training on “Safety and Accident Prevention”

On Tuesday, the Human Resource Development Department of BSL organized a two-day safety training program for the Management Trainee (Technical) of 2021 batch. Amarendra Jha, Chief General Manager (Security & Fire Services), inaugurated the program.  Safety and accident prevention in steel plants were highlighted, as well as the role of frontline managers in these areas. During the session, Jha encouraged the participants to follow the safety rules. During the two-day training program, various speakers discussed Risk Management, 5-S System of Work Place Management, Behavior Based Safety, Gas Safety, Factory Act, Occupational Health, Road Safety, etc.

The Institution of Engineers (India) hosted a seminar

On Tuesday, the Bokaro Branch of the Institution of Engineers (India) organized a one-day seminar on “Cost Reduction through Reclamation of Equipments by Welding” on the Institution of Engineers (India) campus. S. Mukhopadhyay, Chief General Manager (Maintenance) of Bokaro Steel Plant, lit the lamp to inaugurate the seminar. The speakers stressed the importance of finding out the defective/broken parts of the equipment by reclaiming them through welding before discarding the equipment. Gupta stressed the importance of reclamation through welding.

Rolling of plates for use in satellite launch vehicles

Another consignment of MDN 250 slabs supplied by Misra Dhatu Nigam Ltd (MIDHANI) was successfully rolled into plates in SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant’s Plate Mill on 26th August 2021 for use in the satellite launch vehicles (SLV) of ISRO. This was the 13th time that MDN 250 slabs have been rolled under strict tolerances into plates of desired thickness for use in SLVs in India’s space research programmes.

BSL retired 44 employees in August

Three executives and 41 non-executives retired from Bokaro Steel Plant in August 2021. Certificates of appreciation and gifts were presented to the retiring steelworkers for their long and dedicated service.
