BSL signs MOU with IIIT Hyderabad on product innovation
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed through virtual meet between SAIL-Bokaro Steel Plant and IIIT Hyderabad to identify and pursue close partnership in areas of Technical and product innovation. Executive director (Works) of BSL, Atanu Bhowmik signed the MOU with the professor P J Narayanan (Director, IIIT Hyderabad). Professor Ramesh Loganathan (Chair Outreach Committee, IIIT Hyderabad) and other BSL officials were present during the ceremony.
Bhowmik stated that both the institutions (SAIL-BSL & IIIT Hyderabad) have a reputation for excellence in their respective areas and believe that industry and field experience of our people in conjunction with the academic and in-depth knowledge of academicians will open up several new opportunities in the areas of digital transformation and Industry-4.0. Loganathan stressed the importance of Artificial intelligence to Industry-4.0 and mentioned that IIIT Hyderabad is happy to bring their strengths in Artificial Intelligence research to improve productivity.
Safety Awareness Week in BSL plant
The “Safety Awareness Week” program was started in the Shops and Foundry Department of Bokaro Steel Plant on Thursday. Conducting awareness programme, information will be given about topics related to welding, cutting, heavy machine operation, gas safety, fire related safety, material handling, road safety, health and stress management.
