SAIL supplies steel for Chenab Bridge construction

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) supplied steel for the construction of the Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest railway bridge. Its arch soars 359 metres above the bed of the Chenab river in Jammu and Kashmir.

In BSL plant, CISF tightens noose on vehicles missing documents

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has tightened the noose on vehicles moving without valid documents inside Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL). Vehicle owners are being instructed to follow the safety and transportation rules. DIG of CISF BSL Bokaro unit, Saugat Rai had received information that many vehicle operators are moving small and big vehicles without documents in the plant. Moreover, many vehicle owners have been driving vehicles in poor condition for a long time without a fitness certificate. It increases accident risk.

BSL continues to contribute significantly to cash collection for SAIL

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has not only achieved the target of record cash collection in August, but has also set a new record by collecting more cash than the fixed target. Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has raised highest cash collection than other other units in SAIL, said sources.

BSL and IIT-Roorkee sign MOU

The Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) and IIT Roorkee signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) through a virtual meeting to identify and pursue joint research projects. IIT-Rookee will now conduct research projects apart from enhancing knowledge in the areas of coke and sinter production, raw material handling and processing, iron and steel production and troubleshoot technical problems and digital transformation relevant to SAIL-BSL.

The executive director (Works) of BSL, Atanu Bhowmik signed the MOU with Professor Vimal Srivastava (HOD chemical engineering department) of IIT Roorkee. Bhowmik elaborated that this MOU will collaborate on joint research and development projects in different areas of steel plant including environment and safety. He also stated that the rich field experience of our people and the vast knowledge and expertise of academicians from IIT Roorkee will help drive synergy and create values for both the organization.
