SAIL’s ‘Vision Statement Survey’ kicks off, over 10,000 BSL employees expected to participate in questionnaire submission


Bokaro: In a momentous event held on Saturday, the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) initiated the Go Live program for its Vision Statement Survey at Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) and affiliated units. The ceremony, marked by enthusiasm and participation, was inaugurated by Additional Director In-Charge of BSL, Atanu Bhowmick.

Unveiling the Survey:
Atanu Bhowmick, unveiled the survey questionnaire link, urging widespread participation to ensure the success of the campaign. Highlighting the campaign’s significance in the evolving business landscape, Bhowmick emphasised the need for collective support to establish a shared vision.

Importance of Vision Statement: 
Speaking on the occasion, Bhowmick underscored the critical roles of the Vision Statement, including shaping direction, inspiring employees, setting goals, and fostering long-term focus. He encouraged active involvement, stating, “Each and every one of you has valuable insights and perspectives that can contribute to shaping our new vision.”

Redrafting the Vision:
With the current vision statement dating back to 2001, SAIL has initiated a SAIL-wide campaign to redraft the vision, aligning it with contemporary aspirations. The survey link has been shared through various platforms, including the intranet, WhatsApp, and social media, ensuring bilingual accessibility (Hindi and English). Shop Personnel Executives will facilitate employees in filling out the survey questionnaire, aiming for widespread participation in this significant endeavor.

Insightful Presentations: 
Anubinda Mohanty, GM (Business Excellence), RSP, presented an insightful overview of the ‘Redrafting of Vision Statement,’ its history, significance, and the survey schedule. Strategies for ensuring maximum employee participation were elaborated by chief of communication, BSL, Manikant Dhan through detailed presentations.

Rajashree Banerjee, CGM (HRD), RSP, provided a brief outline of the campaign’s entirety, highlighting the concerted efforts of the core team.

Key Participants:
The event witnessed the active involvement of key figures, including BK Tiwary, ED (Works), Amitabh Srivastava, ED (MM), Rajan Prasad, ED (P&A), Anup Kumar, ED (Collieries), J Dasgupta, ED (Mines), PK Rath, ED (SRU), and Dr. BB Karunamay, CMO (BGH) from BSL. Notably, Executive Directors and Chief General Managers from associated units also joined the program.
