Vedanta’s Electrosteel felicitated Aganwadi workers


Bokaro: Electrosteel Steel Limited (ESL), a Vedanta Group Company, felicitated Anganwadi Workers who performed exceptionally well during critical times. The award ceremony was held at Nand Ghar with the support of their O&M partner Humana People to People India.

Pankaj Malhan, CEO, ESL said, “the award ceremony was held to honour of front line workers for their undying spirit and to further motivate them to work with the same zeal. We hope to hold more such ceremonies to further boost the employees to give their best.”

ESL credited the constant efforts by Aganwadi Workers to uplift the community in ESL’s operational areas as the process of converting Angadwadis to Nand Ghars commenced. District Social Welfare Officer, Manisha Vats said “Nand Ghar is an excellent initiative to recognise women who have done great work in community development and in upliftment of women and rural children”.

This initiative by Vedanta aims to ensure rural India is not left behind in India’s march towards progress. It is committed to the national vision of eradicating child malnutrition, providing education, healthcare and empowering women with skill development, said Vats.

ESL has a 1.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) greenfield integrated steel plant at Siyaljori under Chandankyari Block. It produces pig iron, billets, TMT bars, wire rods, and ductile iron pipes.
