Bokaro: Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro, Sree Ayyappa Public School (SAPS) and Pentecostal Assembly School (PAS) marked the 80th Independence Day with flag-hoisting ceremonies, patriotic performances and messages on responsible citizenship. While DPS Bokaro Principal Dr A. S. Gangwar described soldiers as guardians of the nation’s borders and teachers as builders of its future, SAPS focused on the journey from “Swatantra Bharat” to “Viksit Bharat”, while PAS emphasised unity, equality, discipline and national responsibility.

DPS Bokaro Celebrates Independence Day
At DPS Bokaro, Principal Dr A. S. Gangwar unfurled the Tricolour amid chants of “Vande Mataram” and “Jai Hind”. Students presented patriotic songs and cultural performances, while the campus was decorated with flags, balloons and artwork.
Dr Gangwar Calls Students Future Nation-Builders
Dr Gangwar recalled the sacrifices of freedom fighters and said preserving the country’s unity, integrity and dignity was the responsibility of every citizen. He urged students to contribute to nation-building through honesty, discipline and integrity.

SAPS Focuses on ‘Viksit Bharat’
At Sree Ayyappa Public School, the celebrations opened with a rendition of “Vande Mataram”. Principal P. Shailaja Jayakumar spoke about national unity, India’s heritage and the responsibilities of young citizens, urging students to actively contribute to transforming “Swatantra Bharat” into “Viksit Bharat”.
Tribute to Freedom Fighters
Chairman P. Rajagopal paid tribute to freedom fighters, including Bhagat Singh and Mahatma Gandhi, and reminded students that India’s freedom was achieved through immense courage and sacrifice.
Teachers and Students Felicitated
The SAPS management felicitated 55 teachers for their performance during the Faculty Development Programme. Meritorious students were also honoured with medals for their achievements.
PAS Highlights Duties of Young Citizens
At Pentecostal Assembly School, Director Rev. Dr D. N. Prasad hoisted the national flag, followed by the national anthem and patriotic presentations by students. School Captain Apeksha Pandey highlighted India’s scientific, economic, political and technological progress and called upon young people to uphold unity, equality and justice.
PAS Students Secure Second Position
The PAS community also celebrated its students’ second-place finish in an inter-school dance competition held on August 14. The school praised the students for their discipline, teamwork, talent and dedication.
Patriotism Beyond Ceremonies
Across the three campuses, the celebrations carried a common message that patriotism extends beyond ceremonial observances. Students were encouraged to translate their love for the country into responsible citizenship and meaningful contribution to India’s progress.
