Bokaro: Sree Ayyappa Public School, Bokaro, hosted a two-day CBSE Capacity Building Programme on Career Guidance on August 22 and 23, 2026. The programme aimed to equip teachers with effective techniques and practical approaches to help students make informed and appropriate career choices.

Around 60 Teachers Participate
Around 60 teachers actively participated in the training programme. The sessions were conducted by CBSE Resource Persons Mr. Anup Damiyan John from G.G.P.S., Chas, Bokaro, and Mr. Manoj Kumar Mishra from Ispat DAV Public School, Sector 12 E, Bokaro. Their expertise and engaging teaching methods made the programme highly interactive and enriching.
Focus on Career Development and Guidance
The training covered several key aspects of career development, including developing the right perspective towards career guidance, understanding the major components of career development and exploring the diverse range of career opportunities.

Teachers Trained to Guide Students Effectively
Participants were also trained in communicating career-related information and understanding the role of teachers in career guidance. The programme assumed particular significance in the context of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasises career guidance and counselling to help students make informed choices based on their interests, abilities and aspirations.
Innovative Activities Make Training Interactive
The two-day programme featured a range of innovative and experiential activities. The resource persons used skits, songs, role plays, group discussions, presentations, videos and drawing activities to demonstrate how career guidance can be made engaging and effective for students.
Experiential Learning Strengthens Counselling Skills
These activities enabled teachers to gain practical insights into communicating career-related information and counselling students effectively. The interactive approach also helped participants understand how they can support students in identifying their strengths and exploring suitable career paths.
School Management Committee Appreciates Programme
The School Management Committee appreciated the successful organisation of the programme. Chairman Mr. P. Rajagopal, Vice Chairmen Mr. Saseendran Karat and Mr. Mohanan R. Nair, General Secretary Mr. E. S. Suseelan, Treasurer Mr. Balachandran, Director Board Member Mr. Suresh Kumar K. A. and Dr. Suresh Babu expressed hope that the training would enable teachers to provide proper direction to students.
