Private schools are asked to ensure admission of poor children under RTE


Bokaro: In pursuance of the Right to Education Act, now all private schools recognized by the district must take in poor children selected by the Education Department. There will be no excuses for private schools now. Private schools have been instructed as such by the district education department.
Education department asked private schools to submit a list of available seats in primary classes. But so far, around two dozen private schools have not provided the information. Some private schools are ignoring the Right to Education Act. The district education superintendent has raised objection for not enrolling the selected students without giving any clear reason.
District Superintendent of Education, Bokaro, Renuka Tigga, said that admission of poor children will be ensured in the primary classes in recognized private schools of the district. The schools will have to enroll the children selected by the department.  Private schools have been asked to provide a list of vacant seats under this RTE quota. Upon getting the list from all private schools, enrollment can begin in December itself.
