BSOA election: Contestants chase last-minute support in the final hours before vote 


Bokaro: The BOSA election campaign ended on Saturday in the same aggressive manner it began, with candidate A K Singh chasing last-minute support and opponent Ravi Bhusan also battled hard. Both Singh and Bhusan urged their supporters to vote on Sunday. (See the list of contestants in last)
For the general secretary post, Neeraj Kumar, Mantosh Kumar, and Ajay Pandey are in a tight race. Additionally, the candidates for treasure Sanjeev Kumar Jha, V S Narayan, and Rajeev Ranjan struggled hard to secure their positions. Many of the contestants met voters, sent messages, and called in the last minute.
The election of the Bokaro Steel Officers Association (BSOA) session 2021-23 will take place on Sunday at BSOA Bhawan, Sector 4 F. Here one candidate will be selected for the post of President, one for General Secretary, and another for Treasurer. Different candidates will be chosen for a total of 32 posts of zonal representatives at the same time. Voting will take place from 10 am to 5 pm. Results will be announced by 9 pm.
Election Officer cum BSL’s CGM Pawan Kumar had a review meeting earlier in the day. He drafted a strategy for peaceful and fair elections. It was decided that voters cannot vote without the gatepass provided by the company. Voters must bring their ID cards with them. There will be a team of BSL security guards besides police personnel on duty at the polling place.
According to sources, it is expected that 80 to 85 percent of voters will vote this time. Many officials are on leave before the elections, which will reduce voter turnout. There are 1890 officers in BSL.
