Here a teacher uses loudspeaker of a temple to teach children, hang alphabet posters on street walls

Bokaro: At a time when schools are closed due to Covid-19 pandemic and teachers are conducting online classes, a teacher in this small village is taking classes through loudspeakers. He also hanged posters displaying alphabets in the streets for the students.

In Junori village of Paplo Panchayat of Chandrapura block, people are admiring this unique way of teaching by Bhim Mahto (59), a government teacher. Mahto said that loudspeaker is installed in Shiva Temple that is situated in centre of the village from where his voice easily spread everywhere.

The style of Mahto’s teaching is so captivating that children never miss his class. Mahto said that “I have put some posters of Hindi and English alphabets on walls at different spots in the village, so that children can see and learn from it. The words written in this poster are spoken through loudspeakers, which children listen, speak and write”.

Most of the children in this village belongs to the downtrodden section. Their parents do not have smartphones. Mahto is teaching children free of cost. He found that with schools closed, education of the children is badly affected in the village, thus he comes up with the idea to teach them in this way.
