Onam: Blooming creativity & cultural celebrations mark Ayyappa Public School’s Rangoli extravaganza


Bokaro: In a burst of creativity and colour, Sri Ayyappa Public School hosted an enthralling Rangoli competition adorned with vibrant flowers and hues, embracing the thematic essence of Chandrayaan 3, Onam, and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. The event, held within the school premises, witnessed spirited participation from students spanning grades VI to XII, in an engaging inter-house contest. 

The event commenced with the esteemed Chairman Rajgopal, the school’s chief guest, inaugurating the competition by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The distinguished panel of judges, comprising Rajgopal, Board of Directors K.K. A. Suresh, and Vasudevan Namboodiripad, meticulously evaluated the creative endeavors of the participants.

Emerging triumphant, Periyar and Ganga House clinched the first-place honor, while Pampa secured a commendable second place, and Kaveri House claimed the third spot.

The artistic fervor extended beyond Rangoli, as the students graced the stage with captivating performances, including the evocative Mahabali and Tiruvatirakali renditions, and mesmerising Mohiniyattam dances. A highlight was the spellbinding Puli Kali dance, wherein children artistically portrayed a mythological tiger.

The jubilant atmosphere also embraced the celebration of Raksha Bandhan. The primary grade students exhibited their creativity by crafting hand-made rakhis, which they joyfully tied to the school dignitaries, adding a touch of tradition and togetherness.

Addressing the assembly, Rajagopal and the school’s leadership extended warm wishes for Onam and Raksha Bandhan, lauding the students for their artistic finesse. S. S. Mahapatra, the school’s Director, encouraged students to passionately engage in such creative competitions, fostering their latent artistic talents.

On this occasion Vice President Mohanan R. Nair and Sashindran Karat, Board Member Suresh Kumar K. A., Babu Raj and B. Shajeen were also present.

Principal P. Shailja Jai Kumar articulated the significance of Onam and Raksha Bandhan, emphasizing their role in infusing life with positivity and elation.

The event’s success was the collective effort of Vice Principal Rajalakshmi, in-charge faculty members, teachers, student council, and the spirited students themselves. The occasion concluded with a resonating call to continue nurturing artistic expression and cultural enthusiasm among the school’s budding talents.
