During the ongoing operation, police sources reported the discovery of a Maoist bunker within the jungle, containing cartridges, medical supplies, electronic devices, clothing and other items.

Inspector General (IG) of Police for North Chotanagpur Zone, Micheal S Raj, oversees the comprehensive anti-Naxal search operation, with SP Bokaro, Priyadarshi Alok, and a contingent of CRPF and Jharkhand Jaguar forces collaborating strategically to arrest the naxals.

Following Tuesday’s encounter between police and Naxalites near Dandara and Chaiyatand of Chute Panchayat in Gomia block, security efforts were heightened. Police officers strategically cordoned off key areas such as Jhumra Pahad and Jinga Pahad, conducting thorough reconnaissance to apprehend the Naxalites.

The Naxalite squad, led by banned CPI Maoist zonal commander Birsen, alias Chanchal, alias Raghunath Hembram, attempted to evade capture by traversing through Jhumra, Luguphad, and Jinaga mountain regions, resorting to gunfire to assert their presence.

As tensions mount, security forces maintain a vigilant perimeter around targeted areas, with encounters prompting Naxalite retreats deeper into the forest.
