Private schools participated aggressively in vaccination campaigns in Bokaro


Bokaro: The private schools in the town have aggressively conducted vaccination drives for children aged 15-18, following an advisory by CBSE and the district administration. A special vaccination camp was conducted in 53 schools in the district. Thursday saw 8024 children vaccinated in schools in one day.

In the past four days, 17,930 children have been vaccinated. It is estimated that 1,49,917 students between the ages of 15 and 18 years are to receive vaccinations in the district. The health department sent two health workers to each of 53 schools to conduct the camps. Boys and girls had to wait in the rest room for 30 minutes after receiving the vaccine.

Deputy commissioner, Kuldeep Chaudhary met with the principals of private schools in the district on Wednesday to promote vaccinations by ensuring their participation. Thousands of children have already registered online.
