Bokaro: The Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) in Jharkhand plans to hire doctors on a contractual basis, offering them a handsome salary package, housing and other benefits. The BGH has 910 beds, making it one of the largest hospitals in the state. It is owned by maharatna Steel Authourity of India Limited (SAIL) and operated by Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL).
On Tuesday, SAIL released a recruitment notification for the post of General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO). SAIL has about 24 vacant positions to fulfill in BGH. Candidates should have MBBS degrees. BGH has 135 regular doctors and DNBs on staff. Due to the shortage of doctors, SAIL has been hiring doctors on a contract basis for the past few years.
In the hospital industry, SAIL-BSL offers unmatched pay and benefits. Each year, BGH performs about 8000 surgeries and receives 11 lakh outdoor patients. It serves as a referral center for these coal-belt areas of Bokaro, Giridih, Dhanbad, and Purulia (West Bengal).
