Bokaro: Guru Gobind Singh Educational Society’s Technical Campus (GGSESTC), Engineering and Management College, Chas, Bokaro, successfully organised the institutional-level first stage of Idea Tribe 2026 and Smart India Hackathon 2026 on Friday. More than 200 students actively participated in the programme and showcased their innovative ideas and technical capabilities.

Students Showcase Innovative Projects and Research Ideas
Under Idea Tribe 2026, students presented a total of 10 projects, while 30 projects and research ideas were showcased under Smart India Hackathon 2026. The participants presented their work through PowerPoint presentations as well as physical prototypes.
Focus on Creativity and Problem-Solving Skills
The projects demonstrated the students’ technical knowledge, creativity, innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities. The event provided students with an opportunity to present technology-driven solutions and develop their ideas through practical project demonstrations.

Programme Organised Under IIC Leadership
The programme was organised under the leadership of IIC Coordinator Prof. Pankaj Kumar Ray, with the support of Prof. Suman Kumari and Prof. Parmeshwar Rajak. Faculty members and department heads actively contributed to the evaluation and successful conduct of the programme.
Director Emphasises Role of Innovation
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Priyadarshi Jaruhar, Director of the Institute, said that innovation and ideas would play a crucial role in redefining the future of any country in the coming years. He encouraged students and faculty members to continuously focus on innovation, research, creativity and technology-driven solutions.
IIT Kharagpur Alumnus Evaluates Projects
Er. Manish Raj, an IIT Kharagpur alumnus and AI/ML expert, served as the external evaluator for the event. He reviewed and evaluated the projects presented by the participating students. The Heads of all departments of the institute also served as internal evaluators.
Institution Extends Best Wishes to Participants
Tarsem Singh, President, and S. P. Singh, Secretary, of the institution congratulated the participating students and conveyed their best wishes. They emphasised that the future belongs to competent individuals, positive thinking and innovation, while encouraging students to embrace new technologies and develop creative ideas.
Two Faculty Members Receive Research Project Grants
During the programme, Dr. Priyadarshi Jaruhar announced that JCSTI, Ranchi, Government of Jharkhand, had awarded research project grants to two meritorious faculty members of the institution.
Research Grants Announced for Faculty Members
Dr. Dinesh Kumar Gupta received a research grant of Rs 4.50 lakh, while Dr. Bikash Ghoshal, HOD, Mechanical Engineering, was awarded a research grant of Rs 1.05 lakh. The achievement was appreciated as an important step towards strengthening research activities at the institution.
Director Expresses Gratitude to JUT Vice-Chancellor
On the occasion, the Director expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to Prof. Dr. D. K. Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT), Ranchi, for his inspiring guidance and support.
Faculty Members Support Successful Execution
The programme was supported and conducted by Prof. Shahnaz Farheen, Dr. A. P. Burnwal, Dr. Manojit De, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Verma and Dr. Shafaq Rahmat. Their contributions played an important role in the successful execution of the event.
