Spardha 2024: Inter-College sports meet concludes with grand awards ceremony at Bokaro


Bokaro witnessed the vibrant culmination of the three-day inter-college sports meet, “Spardha – 2024,” at Guru Gobind Singh Educational Society’s Technical Campus Engineering and Management College. The awards ceremony, graced by Bokaro’s Divisional Forest Officer Rajneesh Kumar as the chief guest, marked the successful conclusion of the event.

The ceremony commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, setting the stage for a memorable evening. College Director Dr. Priyadarshi Jaruhar extended a warm welcome to the chief guest, accompanied by Institute President Tarsem Singh, Secretary Surendra Pal Singh, and esteemed social worker Jyotirmoy Dey.

Addressing the audience, Director Jaruhar encouraged students to actively engage in sports, emphasising the importance of sports in holistic development. Divisional Forest Officer Shri Rajneesh Kumar echoed this sentiment, highlighting the role of sports in fostering leadership qualities.

“Spardha-24” featured a diverse array of sports competitions, including cricket, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, carrom, chess, and shot put. Anjali Kumari was honored as the best player of the college, while Government Women’s Polytechnic clinched the runner-up prize in the carrom category with the participation of 16 students.

Acknowledging the success of the event, Sports teacher Kumar Shrishabh and coordinators Prof. Sumeet Kumar, Prof. Gautam Kumar, Prof. Anupriya, and Prof. Apoorva Sinha were recognized for their invaluable contributions to the sports meet.

The occasion not only celebrated sporting excellence but also fostered a spirit of camaraderie and competition among the participating colleges.
