Bokaro: Who says only students need lessons ? At Sree Ayyappa Public School, teachers recently swapped their usual role of mentors and became learners themselves. The school organised a three-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) in collaboration with School For All (SFA), transforming the campus into a hub of ideas, innovation and futuristic learning.
Held from July 31 to August 2, the workshop themed “The Future Classroom – Unlock New Horizons” focused on preparing teachers for an era where classrooms are no longer limited to blackboards and textbooks but powered by creativity, technology and emotional intelligence. The programme, conducted under the leadership of Dr Surojit Saha, CEO of School For All, aimed to equip educators with modern teaching techniques, leadership abilities and communication skills needed for tomorrow’s classrooms.
From solving classroom puzzles to…
The first day began with an interesting twist – teachers were presented with real-life classroom challenges and asked to find solutions through teamwork. The activity encouraged critical thinking, empathy and leadership, proving that even experienced educators sometimes need a brainstorming session to discover new answers. Dr Surojit Saha and Ms Richa, HR Head and Soft Skills Trainer at SFA, guided the sessions, highlighting the importance of collaboration and problem-solving in education.
Lessons beyond books
The second day moved from classroom management to professional communication and personal growth. Teachers learned the finer points of professional email writing, including structure, etiquette and effective communication practices. The day’s highlight was an inspiring online session by Mrs Savitha Reddy, CEO of Inlingua, Bengaluru, and a renowned entrepreneur and consciousness coach. Her session, “Decoding Philosophy and Its Application – Discover Your Purpose and Live a Joyous Life,” encouraged teachers to explore their inner purpose, develop emotional intelligence and become positive influences in students’ journeys.
Future-ready teaching takes centre stage
The concluding day featured Dr Shilpa Hiwale, an experienced educator and teacher trainer with over 20 years of expertise in English Literature, History and teacher education. She shared innovative teaching methods, learner-focused approaches and strategies to improve academic excellence. Dr Prashant Kumar, Principal of Mont Fort Academy, Amaghata, Dhanbad, also addressed teachers on thought leadership and creating happier classrooms.
The workshop introduced educators to SFA’s initiatives in robotics, STEM education, mental wellness programmes, technology integration, future classroom concepts and international certification opportunities.
A new chapter for educators
Chairman P. Rajagopal appreciated the initiative, stating that professional development helps teachers become architects of young minds. Director S.S. Mahapatra emphasised that teachers must remain lifelong learners to prepare students for future challenges. Principal P. Shailaja Jayakumar thanked the resource persons and encouraged faculty members to implement the ideas gained during the workshop.
The three-day programme ended with teachers carrying more than certificates – they carried fresh perspectives, innovative ideas and a renewed promise to make classrooms more creative, joyful and future-ready.
