Vedanta’s ESL Steel partnered with Danieli Corus of Netherland to modify steelmaking


Bokaro (Chandankyari): ESL Steel Limited, a Vedanta Group company, has partnered with Danieli Corus to modify converter shells using Danieli’s innovative suspension technology. Danieli Corus is a leading technology provider for the liquid phase of integrated steelmaking. Danieli Corus has installed its state-of-the-art technology for the first time in India. The company is based in Netherlands, with subsidiaries located in China and India.

“With a technology asset life of 20 years, Danieli Corus has been proven worldwide. Guenther Studinger, the patent holder and main design expert, had visited ESL Steel as part of ESL’s debottlenecking journey,” said Vanshika Rakesh, a public relation officer of ESL.

In addition to conducting research and implementing innovations, the businesses plan to have a positive impact on the environment and also aid business performance. The increased production volume will also assist the system in maintaining its stability, while maximizing the efficiency of the production process.

Speaking about the tie-up, ESL CEO , NL Vhatte said, “With Danieli Corus’ help, we will be able to increase our production and efficiency and will be in a much better state to serve the communities while spearheading the state’s development.” He also mentioned that this is a start of many more such tie-ups which are in the pipeline”.
