Sumit had created a fake website and had lured people by promising them jobs in reputed companies. He had assured them that he would take the full payment only after providing them with the appointment letter.

However, after taking the money, Bhagat had handed over a fake appointment letter to Devnath. When Devnath went to join the company, he realized that he had been cheated and lodged a complaint with the cyber police station.

After investigating the matter, the Kolkata Police traced Sumit’s office in Ranchi. He had set up an office in Ranchi for the same fraudulent purpose. The police had gone there in search of him, but he had fled to Bokaro Jaridih market. The police then raided his house and arrested him.
