BSL hosts CII: BIADA industries must explore new growth routes

During the interaction of CII-Jharkhand team with BIADA industrialists, the Vice Chairman of CII-Jharkhand first made a presentation on the various activities and initiatives being taken-up by them for development and promotion of industries in state. He further elaborated the privileges and benefits of industries joining CII-Jharkhand in terms of access to various services, development programs, technical-commercial know how provided by CII.

Chairman CII then urged BIADA industrialists to be a part of CII-Jharkhand to take benefits of the expertise available with them. Director Incharge, BSL, Amarendu Prakash also requested BIADA industrialists to take advantage of the opportunities offered by CII-Jharkhand and explore new and higher avenues of growth. The 3rd State Council meeting of CII-Jharkhand was organized for the first time in Bokaro at Bokaro Niwas hosted by SAIL- Bokaro Steel Plant.

Vice President (Corporate Services) of Tata Steel, Chanakya Choudhary, Regional Director, JIADA Bokaro, Kritishree, BSL Executive Director (Materials Management) with other senior officers of CII-Jharkhand and council members were present.

Trainees welcomed with open arms

Management trainees of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) were apprised of the working area and standard health service facilities they can access at Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) during their induction program. A five-member team from BGH demonstrated all the facilities available in BGH and how they can utilize them when needed. The doctor team of BGH comprises Dr Prabhat Kumar, Dr Prakash Pandey, Dr P K Pandey, Dr Tripti Chandra and Dr Nipon Sharma.

Training in behavior-based safety

Bokaro Steel Plant organized a one-day training program for employees on Behavior Based Security (BBS) on Thursday. D R Toppo, GM HRD, asked participants to adhere to safety standards on the shop floor. General Manager (Safety) Vikas Gupta called on the employees to adopt Behavior Based Safety (BBS) to prevent accidents. During the presentation, employees were also informed about the qualities of BBS Observers, their methods of working, collecting data on the job, and filling out BBS Observer Cards.

SAIL supplied 100,000 tonnes of medical oxygen

During the COVID19 crisis, SAIL provided 1 lakh tonnes of liquid medical oxygen. Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) supplied one of the highest volumes of medical oxygen in SAIL during second wave of Corona virus. More than nine states in the country received oxygen from BSL via road, rail, and cargo plane. SAIL-BSL stands by the nation at all times, said BSL sources.

 A workshop was held on Corona Abhijgyan

Occupational Health Services Center has started the third series of ‘Corona Abhigyan’ on Thursday under the guidance of Bokaro Steel Plant’s Executive Director (Works) Atanu Bhowmik. The participants were given detailed information about the COVID scenario and the means to prevent the disease during a possible third wave.
