VLW beaten over delay in election report in Bokaro, Work resumes after protests

Bokaro: On Wednesday, a VLW was allegedly beaten by a senior official for not submitting an election-related report on time, sparking widespread discussion in the district. The victim, acting as a supervisor for VLW BLOs, did not receive necessary reports from some BLOs, resulting in his delay. This led to the senior official’s anger and subsequent beating of the VLW. Outraged by the incident, workers halted election work temporarily. As the situation escalated with protests, Additional Municipal Commissioner of Chas Municipal Corporation, Saurav Bhuvaniya, intervened and assured a swift resolution.

Following this, Bokaro’s DDC Sandeep Kumar visited the dispatch center, engaged with the employee union and workers, and reassured them. Consequently, election process work resumed. However, the senior officer against whom the allegation was made denied beating anyone.
