Bokaro: The air was filled with Christmas carols as local residents ate cake, danced, and sang carols with each other on Christmas. Christmas was celebrated with great fervor in many institutions of the city on Saturday. A festive atmosphere prevailed throughout the town. Father, Sameer Kerketta wished everyone ‘merry Christmas’
Colourful papers, clay lamps, glowing stars and colourful illuminations decorate the shops, restaurants, houses, hotels, and streets of the city. In many restaurants and gift shops, special discounts and gifts are offered to customers on Christmas.
In restaurants, however, there were a variety of mouth-watering dishes for food lovers this Christmas. Restaurants added new distinctive menu items for their customers, while bakeries made brisk sales of designer cakes.
Amit Johar, owner of Ginger Restaurant, said they decorated a Christmas tree and colorful illumination were special attraction for customers. The kids enjoyed the toffees and surprise gifts. Bokaro Mall also has a Christmas tree and jingle bells. Residents took selfies with the large Christmas tree installed at the portico.
Local Christian communities celebrated Christmas with pomp and gaiety. Each home of the Christens in town had a large star hanging in front of it. Cakes, puddings, rose cookies, cul-cul, and other items prepared by the Christens brought full taste to the party.
